ELV transport activity may only be performed by operators with a Registration Number attributed by the Portuguese Waste Institute, which is given after the transport equipment is proven to be suitable in terms of health and environment protection.
ELV transport in the Portuguese Territory is regulated by Ordinance no. 335/97, of 16th May. After being received and treated by a dismantler, the transport of the ELV hulk must be accompanied by a copy of the Certificate of Destruction.
ELV transport for destinations outside the Portuguese Territory requires an authorization in accordance with EEC Regulation no. 259/93, of 1st February, and with Decree-Law no. 296/95, of 17th November.
