VALORCAR held two training sessions on Firefighting and Building Evacuation for VALORCAR NETWORK operators. The main goal was to equip trainees with basic knowledge to operate with first responders (in the event of a fire) and ensure the evacuation of building occupants.
These training sessions were conducted in collaboration with the National Firefighting School and took place last September at its facilities in Sintra and S. João da Madeira. Topics related to fire prevention and fighting, evacuation procedures, and practical firefighting exercises were conducted using first responders such as various types of extinguishers and fire hose reels.
This initiative aimed to complement other VALORCAR actions on this topic (publication of guides with information on: appropriate means of fighting fires, approval of self-protection measures; verification of these requirements during visits and audits), contributing to preventing the occurrence of fires in the centers, as well as reducing their severity, when they occur.
