European Regulation 2023/1542 on batteries and battery waste establishes the need for battery distributors to inform end consumers about the proper disposal and management of battery waste.
This information must be permanently available at battery sales locations and include: recommendations for extending battery life, mandatory disposal of battery waste through selective collection (e.g., VALORCAR Network), environmental and health impacts resulting from improper disposal of battery waste (e.g., disposal with municipal waste), meaning of labels, and handling precautions.
