The new VALORCAR license for end-of-life vehicle (ELV) management was published in Diário da República on March 1st (Order No. 2178-A / 2018 of March 1), covering the 2018 -2021 period.
According to the new license, VALORCAR will have to ensure a reuse/recovery rate of at least 95% of all ELVs by weight, a reuse/recycling rate of at least 85% of all ELVs by weight
and by 2018 will have to ensure a collection rate of 80%, which will increase gradually up to 85% by 2021.
In the first half of 2018, VALORCAR will also prepare new framework elements, including new contracts with producers, ATFs and recyclers.
